We are currently recruiting an analytical and commercially minded Accountant for our client. This role goes far beyond traditional bookkeeping, empowering the successful candidate to provide vital financial insights into the cost of goods, inventory management, budgets, gross margins, and overall profitability. You will help executive management decode complex financial data to drive informed, strategic business decisions across operations.
Key Responsibilities- Determine and analyze the comprehensive cost of goods, products, and services.
- Monitor inventory costs, stock movements, and valuation variances.
- Prepare, evaluate, and track departmental and corporate budgets against actual performance.
- Conduct thorough gross margin and product profitability analysis.
- Identify operational cost variances, financial leakages, and strategic opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Prepare comprehensive financial and management reports delivering actionable business insights.
- Support pricing strategies and commercial initiatives through accurate cost-benefit modeling.
- Maintain immaculate accounting records, general ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Senior Management to analyze overall business performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in costing, inventory accounting, or financial analysis.
- Strong foundational accounting knowledge combined with exceptional data analytical skills.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounting software.
- Professional certification or ongoing progression toward ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is a distinct advantage.
