About the Role
Petromech Engineering United Limited is a dynamic Kaduna-based industrial company specializing in sustainable waste management, base oil production, and comprehensive mechanical engineering services. We are currently seeking a meticulous and results-driven Accountant to oversee the financial operations, tax compliance, and reporting functions for our factory and workshop. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with deep familiarity with the Nigerian regulatory and tax landscape to ensure seamless financial control and strategic support for our expanding operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly and year-end financial closings.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, cash flow forecasts, and annual statutory reports in alignment with relevant standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws by calculating, preparing, and remitting monthly taxes including VAT, WHT, and PAYE.
- Handle annual company income tax computations, liaise with federal and state revenue services, and manage tax audits and clearances.
- Monitor daily expenditures, enforce internal controls, manage petty cash, and oversee inventory reconciliations and fixed asset registers.
- Collaborate with HR for statutory payroll remittances and partner with external auditors for statutory audits.
- Bachelor degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors in Nigeria.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic tax filing platforms, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to independently manage accounts, prepare financial statements, and handle complex tax reconciliations.
- Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is a strong advantage.
