About the Role
Gilbert Igweka Global Concept Nigeria Limited, a leading force in Nigeria's construction and infrastructure sector, is recruiting a competent Accountant to join our finance team. As a trusted partner delivering quality solutions across cement distribution, petroleum products, and steel materials, we require a meticulous financial professional to ensure our accounting operations remain robust and compliant.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting entries
- Record daily sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and financial transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and ledger accounts
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable with timely follow-ups on outstanding balances
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and accounting documents
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper documentation and authorization
- Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial planning
- Support payroll preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Identify accounting discrepancies and potential financial risks
- Provide accurate financial information to management for strategic decision-making
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of core accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail with high accuracy standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- ICAN certification or professional qualification preferred
- Experience in building materials, trading, distribution, or haulage industry advantageous
- Competitive salary: ₦250,000 - ₦300,000 monthly
