About the Role
Premium HR Solution Limited seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to support the finance function in Ghana's cocoa sector. This role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, processing transactions, and ensuring financial compliance for a dynamic agribusiness operation. You will work collaboratively with office-based finance teams and field operations across multiple cocoa-buying locations, managing everything from supplier invoices to statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Process supplier invoices, payment requests, field expense claims, and petty cash reimbursements in accordance with company policies
- Record daily accounting transactions including purchases, payments, receipts, journals, accruals, and prepayments in the accounting system
- Perform bank, mobile money, cash, and ledger reconciliations with prompt escalation of variances
- Track cocoa stock movements, dispatches, and warehouse balances for reporting and control purposes
- Maintain organized finance documentation including invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and bank statements
- Prepare routine reports and schedules for month-end close, internal audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance
- Support payroll processing, withholding tax schedules, VAT support, and statutory deductions
- Verify documentation and approvals to ensure compliance with finance procedures
- HND, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- 2–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, audit, or finance experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (SAP, Sage, QuickBooks, Tally)
- Knowledge of Ghanaian tax requirements (VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, SSNIT)
- Professional accounting certification (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable
- Experience in cocoa, agribusiness, or commodity trading is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical skills, and ability to work under pressure
- Strong integrity, confidentiality standards, and communication abilities
