About the Role
Emmanuel Bakeries Limited, a premier FMCG distributor in Kogi State with over 11 years of industry leadership, is seeking a dedicated and analytical Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our financial integrity, driving operational efficiency, and supporting our mission to connect businesses and consumers seamlessly across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records and record daily transactions in compliance with established accounting procedures.
- Prepare and review financial statements, periodic management reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Conduct thorough reconciliations for bank, cash, customer, supplier, and sales accounts.
- Monitor receivables and payables, follow up on outstanding balances, and prepare invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
- Monitor expenses, identify unsupported transactions, and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures, and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Sales, Operations, and Procurement departments on financial matters while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional accounting certifications or a Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant, ideally within the FMCG, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong command of accounting principles, financial reconciliation, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
- Exceptional analytical skills, numerical accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and communicate financial insights effectively.
