About the Role
Michael Stevens Consulting invites applications from skilled finance professionals for the role of Accountant. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, strong expertise in cost accounting, and the ability to drive data-backed financial decisions within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and regulatory reports for accuracy.
- Manage core cost accounting functions, including product costing, raw material valuation, and overhead allocation.
- Oversee inventory accounting and stock reconciliations in collaboration with warehouse and production teams.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial budgets, reports, and variance analyses.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and Company Income Tax.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation and schedules.
- Analyze production costs and recommend actionable cost-control measures to optimize profitability.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with proven tenure in a manufacturing or beverage FMCG setting.
- Active professional certification or in view (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Strong command of accounting software, ERP systems (such as SAP, Sage, or QuickBooks), and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance standards.
