About the Role
Global Pay Limited is a forward-thinking global payment company dedicated to driving financial and social inclusion through innovative payment solutions that eliminate physical and geographical boundaries. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team at our Lagos, Nigeria office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting day-to-day financial operations, comprehensive reporting, and accurate reconciliations across GlobalPay and its affiliate entities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, general ledgers, and journal entries.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and settlement account reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Ensure timely remittance and filing of statutory taxes including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting.
- Process vendor payments, staff expense claims, and payroll-related entries efficiently.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and schedules.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor robust internal accounting controls.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven accounting experience, ideally within the banking, fintech, or payments industry.
- ICAN or ACCA certification, or currently in view, will be a strong advantage.
- Strong, practical understanding of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS standards, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP, alongside advanced MS Excel skills.
