Adamawa State University, Mubi, the premier state-owned university in Nigeria's North East sub-region, is seeking a visionary and dynamic professional for the position of University Librarian. Located in the scenic town of Mubi, Adamawa State, our institution serves a thriving academic community of undergraduate and postgraduate students, supported by dedicated faculty and staff. The University Librarian will play a pivotal role in transforming our library into a modern, ICT-driven knowledge hub that supports academic excellence, innovative research, and comprehensive student learning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all library services, resources, and personnel across the university.
- Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, preservation, and digital transformation of library collections to meet modern academic standards.
- Manage the university library budget, resource allocation, and facility planning efficiently.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with academic departments to integrate library resources seamlessly into curricula and research.
- Ensure robust adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and e-learning tools within library operations.
- Mentor professional library staff and uphold high standards of integrity and administrative excellence.
- Hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized institution.
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in library operations and management.
- Demonstrate at least 10 years of progressive experience in university administration, specifically at the level of Deputy Librarian or equivalent.
