About the Role
Dangote Group, one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, is seeking a dedicated Tracking & Control Officer to manage and monitor our DSR Transport fleet operations. With headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, we operate across cement manufacturing, sugar refining, flour milling, logistics, and other key sectors. This is an opportunity to contribute to our continued growth while ensuring operational efficiency and safety across our transport operations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and track all DSR Transport trucks in real-time, ensuring optimal route compliance and operational efficiency
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports on vehicle location, speed violations, usage patterns, and operational metrics
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to enhance driver safety and minimize vehicle wear
- Report and escalate incidents involving defaulting drivers, vehicle accidents, illegal haulage, and regulatory violations
- Conduct periodic vehicle inspections and recommend corrective maintenance actions
- Liaise with drivers and Fleet Managers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Oversee fleet presentation, accident reporting, maintenance processes, and damage assessments
- Provide cross-functional support to other departments as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Social Sciences, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience in fleet management or similar roles
- Membership of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or equivalent professional body
- Proficiency in vehicle tracking software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong knowledge of vehicle licensing procedures and traffic regulations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- High level of accountability and attention to detail
