About the Role
Aldelia Limited is a global specialist recruitment firm serving the Oil & Gas industry with dedicated regional teams delivering consistent, high-quality technical and engineering solutions. We are recruiting a Telecoms Maintenance Engineer to join our operations team and manage critical telecommunications infrastructure across diverse facilities.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of sophisticated telecom systems. You will ensure maximum system availability, lead telecom projects, supervise contractors, and deliver reliable communication infrastructure in line with international standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and support enterprise telecom systems including data networks, telephony, fibre optics, microwave links, VSAT, PA/GA systems, CCTV, access control, GMDSS, UHF/VHF/Marine/Aero radios, radar, AIS, IPTV, video conferencing, and meteorological systems
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize system uptime
- Diagnose and resolve telecom system faults promptly
- Perform engineering studies for system design, upgrades, and standardization
- Develop technical specifications and engineering documentation
- Supervise telecom contractors and specialists from installation through commissioning
- Evaluate technical bids and manage vendor relationships
- Prepare technical reports and support the 5-year telecom work program
- Monitor equipment lifecycle and recommend system upgrades
- B.Sc. (minimum Second Class Lower) or HND (Distinction) in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years' experience in enterprise data networking and operational project management
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on telecommunications or network engineering, operations, and maintenance experience
- Oil & Gas industry telecom infrastructure experience highly desirable
- Proficiency in enterprise data networks, fibre optics, microwave systems, VSAT, CCTV, access control, and radio systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proven contractor and vendor management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering drawing software
