As a Tax Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance, supporting tax authority engagements, and contributing to audit readiness frameworks. You will work closely with finance, legal, and business teams to strengthen tax governance and minimize risk exposure across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage corporate tax compliance across Africa, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, freight tax, and transfer pricing returns.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely preparation and submission of tax returns and statutory filings.
  • Support global and regional tax reporting requirements, including CbCR and Pillar Two compliance.
  • Assist in managing tax authority audits, investigations, enquiries, and information requests.
  • Support tax controversy management, including technical submissions, reconciliations, objections, and audit negotiations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and technical position papers to support defensible tax positions.
  • Support tax accounting and provisioning, including current tax, deferred tax, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen internal controls and close documentation gaps.
  • Leverage technology and data tools to improve audit readiness and tax reporting efficiency.
  • Monitor regulatory and tax law developments across the region and assess their operational impact.
  • Provide practical tax advisory support to business and finance teams on transaction structuring.
  • Contribute as a trusted team member in regional tax discussions and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Graduate with hands-on experience in a tax-related role.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience in tax compliance or advisory.
  • Proven experience supporting tax filings, compliance processes, and controversy management.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple jurisdictions, managing competing deadlines and authority interactions.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
