About the Role
Dangote Group, one of Africa's most diversified business conglomerates, seeks an experienced Sustainability Manager to support the development and implementation of comprehensive ESG strategies. This pivotal role bridges sustainability standards with operational excellence across our cement, sugar, flour, pasta, noodles, and logistics divisions, cementing our commitment to responsible business practices.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with plant operations and cross-functional teams to execute sustainability performance enhancement goals and monitor progress effectively
- Establish short, medium, and long-term sustainability targets, developing strategies for environmentally friendly products and social responsibility initiatives
- Develop and articulate clear ESG KPIs, targets, and frameworks aligned with IFRS S1/S2, GRI, UNGC, and CDP standards
- Coordinate sustainability reporting, certifications, and stakeholder communication initiatives
- Plan and execute materiality assessments, stakeholder engagements, and generate comprehensive sustainability reports
- Manage implementation of sustainability campaigns with measurable impact across all business operations
- Support and build capacity of Sustainability Leads and champions across plant locations
- Promote the organisation's sustainability philosophy to internal and external stakeholders through training, workshops, and advocacy
- Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of corporate sustainability experience in large, multinational organisations
- At least 3 years' experience in sustainability reporting using global standards
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data analysis
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental and social performance management frameworks
- Strong project management, negotiation, and change management skills
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Results-oriented with proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives
