About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital platform in Nigeria empowering millions with instant loans and financial services through our Android app. We are looking for a talented Intermediate Software Engineer (RCL) to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services that drive our high-volume financial products. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to engineer secure APIs, optimize relational databases, and deliver scalable solutions that transform digital banking across emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services using Golang and Ruby on Rails (RoR).
- Develop secure, well-documented RESTful APIs and integrate internal and external financial systems.
- Write efficient SQL queries, manage PostgreSQL and MySQL database schemas, and ensure optimal data performance.
- Implement rigorous unit and integration testing to guarantee high code reliability and prevent regressions.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools and prompt engineering to enhance coding productivity and debugging.
- Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to plan, architect, and deploy impactful tech solutions.
- 4 to 5 years of professional backend software engineering experience in fast-paced environments.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Golang and Ruby on Rails.
- Solid hands-on experience designing and optimizing relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Demonstrated expertise in secure API design, development, and maintenance.
- Strong commitment to software testing disciplines and clean code principles.
- Prior experience in fintech, lending, banking, or regulated financial domains is a strong advantage.
