About the Role
Starsight Energy is a leading provider of premier clean on-grid and off-grid energy services to commercial and industrial clients across Africa. We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Site Engineer to join our operations team in Akwa Ibom. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance activities across assigned company locations, ensuring the integrity, performance, and safety of our solar and hybrid power infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance, testing, and repair of company-owned electrical and solar equipment across assigned sites.
- Perform comprehensive site visits for new project opportunities to evaluate power availability, utility constraints, and construction permits.
- Implement electrical design specifications and functional requirements for solar energy systems, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure strict compliance with the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies across all operational practices.
- Identify and mitigate potential operational and project risks, providing timely reports and robust action plans to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain professional ethics and uphold high standards of service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or renewable energy.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, specifically commercial and industrial solar installations.
- Demonstrated technical capacity with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project management and effective communication.
- Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
