About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, seeks an experienced Senior Scheduler to serve as the operational anchor for refinery scheduling functions. This strategic role ensures that daily scheduling activities align with production goals while maintaining operational excellence across our Lagos-based facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and issue daily, weekly, and rolling production schedules incorporating operational, maintenance, supply chain, and market data updates
- Validate operational readiness for planned runs, feedstock changeovers, and product specifications
- Lead cross-functional coordination meetings with operations, maintenance, process engineers, and supply chain teams
- Manage real-time schedule adjustments during unplanned disruptions and equipment failures
- Maintain advanced scheduling software systems including APS and PIMS with data accuracy and integrity
- Track and report schedule adherence, product yield variance, and key performance indicators
- Supervise and mentor Scheduler team members on tools, processes, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with operational safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare performance summaries and escalate significant scheduling risks to leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 8-10 years in crude refinery operations, scheduling, or planning environments
- At least 5 years in supervisory scheduling or planning roles
- Proficiency in APS, PIMS, and ERP systems with strong data integration capabilities
- Advanced analytical and scenario planning skills with understanding of trading economics
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and crisis management abilities
- Strong attention to detail with proven compliance mindset
