About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, seeks an experienced Senior Planner to join its refining operations. You will own the development of monthly, rolling, and weekly production plans that translate economic optimization into operational reality while maintaining margin protection and schedule stability. This strategic role requires balancing unit constraints, inventory limitations, and maintenance activities to deliver stable, executable plans with minimal rework.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate monthly, rolling, and weekly production plans that convert economic guidance into feasible, executable strategies
- Balance feedstock allocation, blending strategies, and inventory constraints while minimizing quality giveaway
- Own the planning risk register and implement mitigation actions across refinery operations
- Serve as primary planning interface with Scheduling, Operations, and Maintenance teams
- Support scenario planning by testing operational constraints and evaluating shutdowns, rate changes, and feedstock swaps
- Challenge and provide feedback on LP outputs when operationally infeasible, with clear justification
- Mentor Junior Planners and lead planning coordination meetings
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field
- Minimum 7–10 years of proven production planning and scheduling experience in petroleum, petrochemicals, or refining industries
- Advanced expertise in refinery processes, integrated production planning, and LP output interpretation
- Strong proficiency with planning tools, dashboards, and analytical models
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, analytical judgment, and decision-making discipline
- Master's degree, MBA, or professional certification (CFA, PMP) is advantageous
