About the Role
Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a leading household name in the Nigerian healthcare and pharmaceutical industry known for trusted brands like Vitaclox and Vitacillin, is seeking a skilled Senior Microbiologist. Based at our ultra-modern manufacturing facility in Ikeja, Lagos, you will lead the microbiology laboratory section within our Quality Control department to ensure uncompromising product safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and perform complex microbiological testing, including sterility testing, microbial limit tests, and bioburden assays for raw materials and finished products.
- Manage comprehensive environmental monitoring programs for cleanrooms and sterile manufacturing environments.
- Conduct routine testing and validation of purified water systems to meet strict pharmacopoeia specifications.
- Lead investigations into out-of-specification microbiological results and implement robust CAPA procedures.
- Prepare the laboratory for internal and external regulatory audits by NAFDAC and other statutory bodies.
- Author, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures while mentoring junior QC analysts.
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree (B.Sc.) or HND in Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, or related biological sciences.
- 4 to 7 years of hands-on microbiological laboratory experience in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of USP, BP, Ph. Eur., cGMP guidelines, and NAFDAC regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and water system validation.
