About the Role
WTS Energy is the leading consultant and manpower supply company to the international oil, gas, and energy industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our operations in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will provide technical leadership and engineering assurance for the integrity, reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle performance of mechanical equipment supporting upstream production operations. You will help ensure that facilities and equipment remain safe, compliant, available, and fit for their intended service while translating production priorities into risk-based engineering actions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior mechanical engineering support for production equipment, mechanical integrity, maintenance execution, and reliability improvement.
- Support shutdowns, equipment overhauls, brownfield modifications, commissioning, and contractor or OEM management.
- Interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, equipment datasheets, material specifications, inspection reports, and maintenance histories.
- Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA/RCM, criticality assessments, condition monitoring, risk-based maintenance, and asset integrity programmes.
- Utilize CMMS and ERP tools such as SAP PM or Oracle to support maintenance and reliability operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical engineering, maintenance, or reliability experience in upstream oil and gas or comparable process facilities.
- COREN registration or eligibility for registration, alongside active NSE membership.
- Demonstrable senior-level responsibility for production equipment, mechanical integrity, and reliability improvement.
- Strong working knowledge of rotating and static equipment, pressure systems, piping, valves, and utility systems.
- Must be based in Nigeria.
- Relevant postgraduate study or specialist training in reliability, asset integrity, or maintenance engineering is preferred.
