About the Role
We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Litigation Lawyer to oversee the legal aspects of our esteemed law firm in Nigeria. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the firm and our clients strictly follow legal guidelines while providing expert strategic advice to management. The successful candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity, mitigate liabilities, and successfully manage high-stakes litigation matters within the Nigerian legal framework.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, leases, and various legal documents.
- Strategically counsel clients and prospective clients on diverse legal and litigation matters.
- Identify legal or contractual risks and develop innovative approaches to resolve complex issues.
- Provide sound legal advice to senior management regarding corporate and business matters.
- Remain current on Nigerian laws, regulations, judicial precedents, and legal practices affecting the firm.
- Manage relationships, coordinate workflows, and collaborate effectively with co-counsel.
- Represent clients robustly in courts of record across Nigeria when required.
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar and hold a valid license to practice law in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 8 years of active litigation and corporate law experience at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
