About the Role
Denaro Properties Limited, a leading real estate development company in Nigeria since 2011, is seeking a competent, proactive, and commercially minded Senior Legal Officer to provide expert legal support, protect the company's interests, and ensure full regulatory compliance across all operations.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate property sale agreements, tenancy contracts, leases, and deeds of assignment.
- Conduct thorough property title searches, due diligence, and land ownership verifications.
- Provide strategic legal advisory services on real estate transactions, corporate matters, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage property documentation, perfection of titles, statutory registrations, and liaison with land registries and government agencies.
- Handle legal disputes, claims, debt recovery, and coordinate effectively with external legal counsel.
- Identify potential legal risks in property transactions and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure robust documentation and safeguarding of company interests in dealings with investors, contractors, and clients.
- Maintain an organized legal records system and monitor strict compliance with contractual obligations.
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid qualification from the Nigerian Law School and current admission to the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of five (5) years of post-call experience, ideally within a real estate development or property investment firm.
- Demonstrable expertise in Nigerian property law, contract law, land administration, and title perfection processes.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High professional integrity, keen attention to detail, and sound commercial judgment.
