About the Role
Oando PLC, one of Africa's largest integrated energy solutions providers with primary listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, is recruiting a Senior Geologist to deliver advanced geophysical and geological expertise. You will drive reservoir characterization, seismic interpretation, static modelling, and volumetrics to support field development, reserves maturation, and optimal subsurface decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Lead 3D static reservoir model development, integration, and updates incorporating structural, facies, and petrophysical data with comprehensive uncertainty analyses
- Conduct advanced 3D seismic interpretation using AVO/AVA, inversion, spectral decomposition, and rock physics techniques for reservoir prediction and fluid characterization
- Design well trajectories, conduct hazard assessments, and provide real-time geoscience support during drilling operations including geosteering and LWD/MWD interpretation
- Prepare Field Development Plans, Reservoir Management Plans, and reserves documentation aligned with SPE-PRMS standards for regulatory and JV partner submissions
- Integrate multidisciplinary datasets (seismic, geological, petrophysical, core, and production) to deliver accurate subsurface evaluations and optimized field strategies
- Maintain seismic databases, technical documentation, and ensure data integrity compliance with corporate governance standards
- Mentor junior geoscientists and implement emerging technologies including AI/ML analytics and 4D seismic applications
- BSc or MSc in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related discipline
- Minimum 8–12 years in geophysics/geology roles within oil and gas E&P environments
- Professional membership in NAPE, AAPG, SEG, EAGE, or NMGS
- Demonstrated proficiency in 2D/3D seismic interpretation, 3D static modelling, well planning, and geosteering
- Expert command of Petrel, Kingdom, Hampson-Russell, Tnavigator, and DecisionSpace software
- Experience with prospect generation, reserves reporting, and drilling operations support
- Desirable: 4D seismic, advanced inversion, carbonate/clastic reservoirs, deepwater environments, and geomechanics knowledge
