About the Role
WTS Energy is a leading global manpower supply and consulting firm dedicated to the international oil, gas, and energy industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our operations in Edo, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will provide technical leadership and assurance for the availability, integrity, and safe operation of electrical power systems supporting upstream production facilities. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that generation, distribution, and protective systems reliably support production demand and critical safety functions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert electrical engineering support across power generation, low voltage, and medium voltage distribution systems, protection systems, plant shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
- Apply deep technical knowledge of generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centres, motors, variable-frequency drives, protection relays, UPS systems, batteries, cables, and emergency power.
- Interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, equipment datasheets, protection settings, and test results while working with load-flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash studies.
- Manage contractors and original equipment manufacturers while utilizing CMMS and ERP tools such as SAP PM or Oracle to maintain accurate records and optimize work-management processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in upstream oil and gas, gas processing, or comparable industrial process operations.
- Mandatory COREN registration (or eligibility for immediate registration) and active NSE Membership.
- Proven hands-on experience with hazardous areas, maintenance management, and electrical systems commissioning in Nigeria.
- Preferred candidates will possess postgraduate studies or specialist training in power systems, protection, reliability, or project management.
