About the Role
WTS Energy is a leading global consultant and manpower supply company to the international oil, gas, and energy industries. We are currently recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to join our operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will spearhead power generation and energy infrastructure initiatives, ensuring seamless execution from initial design to final commissioning while collaborating closely with key regulatory bodies and utilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical engineering workflows across power generation and energy infrastructure projects, overseeing design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Develop and review comprehensive power system designs encompassing generation, distribution, protection, switchgear, transformers, and metering systems with a strong focus on electrical safety and reliability.
- Utilize industry-standard software such as ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit, and PVsyst to produce accurate engineering drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.
- Drive engagements with power-sector regulators, utilities, and statutory authorities to secure necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals.
- Apply robust project management, contractor oversight, and multidisciplinary coordination skills to keep complex energy projects on schedule and within budget.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant power sector experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in gas-to-power, distributed generation, solar PV, BESS, or hybrid renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in engineering tools including ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit, and PVsyst.
- Active professional registration with COREN and membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
- In-depth knowledge of grid interconnection, power evacuation networks, generator synchronization, and statutory approval processes in Nigeria.
