About the Role
Proten International is recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Senior Civil Engineer to join our expanding operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will provide technical and operational leadership, overseeing high-profile geotechnical, piling, and foundation engineering projects from initial mobilisation through to successful completion. You will leverage your strong project management capabilities and technical expertise to lead multidisciplinary teams, control costs, and maintain strict compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of piling, foundation, and civil construction projects from mobilisation to completion.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to project engineers, site personnel, and subcontractors.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities to ensure delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documentation for compliance.
- Supervise foundation investigations, piling operations, and coordinate site teams including surveyors and geologists.
- Determine and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and resources required for effective project execution.
- Monitor project progress, prepare regular technical reports, and identify operational risks to implement practical solutions.
- Monitor project costs, resource utilisation, and inspect subcontractors' work to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, regulatory standards, and company procedures across all project sites.
- Mentor junior engineers, maintain accurate project documentation, and represent the company professionally with stakeholders.
- B.Sc., B.Eng., or HND in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience, specifically in geotechnical, foundation, piling, or construction engineering.
- Proven end-to-end project coordination and site management experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of foundation investigations, piling operations, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant engineering software.
- COREN registration is strongly preferred, or active progress towards professional registration.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
