About the Role

Genesis Group, a leading wholly Nigerian-owned Catering, Hospitality & Entertainment conglomerate, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Port Harcourt. This role is ideal for a certified accounting professional with a strong background in the hospitality or food service industry, ready to contribute to the financial integrity and growth of one of Nigeria's most dynamic business groups.

With business interests spanning Hotels, Restaurants, Cinemas, Shopping Malls, Real Estate Development, Outdoor Catering, Industrial Catering, and Housekeeping Management, Genesis Group has spent over two decades delivering exceptional products and services to multinational corporations, Nigerian businesses, and discerning members of the public. Our core business units include Industrial Catering & Housekeeping Management serving the Nigerian Oil & Gas sector, Genesis Deluxe Cinemas operating across Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu, and Genesis Centre, an ultra-modern shopping and entertainment facility in Port Harcourt.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound financial management across our diverse business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and reports
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal financial controls
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and reviews
  • Monitor cash flow, financial risk, and cost control measures across business units
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in line with company policy and industry standards

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of cognate accounting experience, preferably within top hospitality, catering, or food service organizations
  • Must be a certified member of either ICAN (ACA) or ACCA
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and accounting best practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be resident in Port Harcourt or willing to relocate at own cost
