About the Role
Dabitos Schools, a reputable private co-educational institution in Ilasamaja, Mushin, Lagos, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in nurturing students' interest in science through creative, engaging, and effective teaching methods that align with the school's high educational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured science lessons in line with the curriculum
- Simplify complex scientific concepts to enhance students' understanding and retention
- Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to promote hands-on learning
- Assess and monitor students' academic progress through tests, assignments, and continuous evaluation
- Maintain accurate records of students' performance and attendance
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to design interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Guide students in developing analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Prepare students adequately for internal and external examinations
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities as required
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field
- Relevant teaching certification (e.g., TRCN) is an added advantage
- Proven experience teaching science at the primary or secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum and pedagogical best practices
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners
