About the Role
Adonville School, a reputable private co-educational institution in Baruwa, Ipaja, Lagos State, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its academic team. The school provides quality education from Creche and Preschool through to Secondary School, and is looking for an individual who can foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science among students of various age groups.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging science lessons, conducting practical experiments, and ensuring students grasp key scientific concepts in line with the curriculum. This role requires a strong educational background, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring young minds.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured science lessons in line with the school curriculum
- Design and conduct engaging classroom activities and practical experiments to enhance learning
- Assess, monitor, and record students’ academic progress and provide constructive feedback
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support overall academic development
- Prepare students for examinations and maintain accurate academic records
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ performance and progress
- Maintain discipline and enforce the school’s code of conduct within the classroom
- NCE, HND, B.Ed., B.Sc., or B.A. in a related field (Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related discipline)
- Prior teaching experience is an advantage but not mandatory
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners
