About the Role
Greensprings School, a premier independent day and boarding institution in Lagos, is seeking a passionate and qualified School Counselor to join our dynamic team at the Lekki campus in Awoyaya. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the character, emotional well-being, and academic success of our students, ensuring they develop into confident, respectful, and socially conscious global citizens.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administration to support student behavioral and developmental goals.
- Design and facilitate guidance programs covering career planning, mental health awareness, and personal growth.
- Identify learning difficulties or behavioral challenges early and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Maintain confidential student records and monitor ongoing progress throughout the academic year.
- Organize workshops and seminars for parents and staff on relevant youth development and adolescent psychology topics.
- Possess a minimum of a First Degree in Guidance and Counseling or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of professional counseling experience, preferably within a reputable educational setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills with a strong empathy for children and adolescents.
- Comprehensive understanding of child development theories, ethical standards, and modern counseling methodologies.
- Valid certification or licensure to practice as a professional counselor is an added advantage.
