About the Role
Jamub Group is seeking a hands-on Road & Civil Construction Works Operative to join our construction team in delivering high-quality road infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with practical experience in road construction, drainage systems and civil works who takes pride in workmanship, safety and precision.
As a member of our site team, you will play a key role in constructing durable, well-engineered roads and drainage structures that meet approved designs, technical specifications and industry standards, while contributing to the successful and timely delivery of our infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and construct subgrade, sub-base and base course layers in line with design levels, gradients and compaction standards.
- Construct kerbs, culverts, drains and other road drainage structures according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Assist with setting-out activities to ensure accurate alignment and positioning of road structures.
- Use correct construction materials and mix ratios to maintain quality and structural integrity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work completed on site.
- Comply fully with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) protocols at all times.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout work activities.
- Participate actively in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Promptly report hazards, near-misses or incidents to the Site Engineer or HSE Officer.
- Minimum of Secondary School Certificate; a technical/vocational certificate in construction or civil works is an added advantage.
- Proven experience working on road construction, civil works or similar infrastructure projects.
- Practical knowledge of subgrade, sub-base and base course construction techniques.
- Familiarity with drainage structures such as culverts, kerbs and drains.
- Understanding of construction materials, mix ratios and quality standards.
- Strong awareness of HSE practices and commitment to safe working habits.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in an outdoor site environment.
