About the Role

We are currently looking for a dedicated and passionate Reporter based in Nasarawa State who can go beyond the headlines, ask critical questions, and deliver engaging stories that keep our audiences accurately informed across Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Gather, investigate, and report breaking news and developing stories accurately and swiftly from Nasarawa State.
- Conduct thorough interviews with key newsmakers, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
- Produce compelling, well-researched video packages, digital articles, and broadcast reports for television and online platforms.
- Identify underreported local issues, trends, and human-interest stories that align with News Central's editorial vision.
- Maintain a reliable network of sources and contacts within government, civil society, and local communities.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, and camera crews to ensure high editorial and technical standards.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related social science field.
- Proven professional reporting experience, preferably within broadcast or digital media in Nigeria.
- Deep understanding of the socio-political landscape and current affairs of Nasarawa State and the broader North-Central region.
- Exceptional writing, verbal communication, and storytelling skills in English (fluency in local languages spoken in Nasarawa is a strong advantage).
- Strong journalistic integrity, ethics, and a commitment to unbiased, factual reporting.
