Full-time Posted today 0 views

About the Role

Moniepoint is a financial technology company digitising Africa's real economy by building a financial ecosystem for businesses, providing them with all the payment, banking, credit and business management tools they need to succeed. We are looking for a Regional Security Lead to protect our people, offices, and assets across the South West region, ensuring our teams can build and create in a safe, secure environment.

As the guardian of our physical spaces, you will lead regional security operations, manage on-ground teams, and proactively identify risks that could threaten business continuity. This role goes beyond reacting to incidents—you will build the systems, relationships, and training programs that prevent them in the first place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of security policies that protect employees, offices, and equipment across the region.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and design strategies to reduce risk.
  • Supervise and mentor private security guards and armed police personnel to ensure professionalism and effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement and emergency services, ensuring rapid response during emergencies.
  • Lead investigations into security breaches and accidents, providing clear, factual reports for continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver training programs that equip security personnel and employees with life-saving protocols.
  • Stay ahead of security trends and technologies, including CCTV and access control systems, to keep operations modern and resilient.
  • Provide expert guidance on asset recovery and fraud investigation when required.

Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience leading a security team in a guard services/physical security company, or 5 years as an ex-commissioned service personnel supervisor in the military, police, or paramilitary.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Recognized security certification such as CPP, PSP, or CPO.
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Fluency in local dialects of the major tribes within the assigned region.
  • Good working knowledge of automated security systems, including CCTV cameras and burglary alarm systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on prevention rather than reaction.
  • Calm, composed demeanor in high-pressure situations, guided by facts rather than emotion.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a leading fintech company transforming Africa's real economy.
  • Collaborative and mission-driven work culture.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Platform to make a tangible impact on organisational safety and resilience.
