About the Role
Moniepoint is a financial technology company digitising Africa's real economy by building a financial ecosystem for businesses, providing them with all the payment, banking, credit and business management tools they need to succeed. We are looking for a Regional Security Lead to oversee security operations across the North East, ensuring our offices remain safe environments where our teams can focus on building financial happiness for businesses across Africa.
As the Regional Security Lead, you will serve as the guardian of our physical spaces, leading on-ground security teams, managing risk proactively, and building strong relationships with law enforcement and emergency services. This role is ideal for a composed, proactive leader who thrives on protecting people and preventing incidents before they occur.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of security policies that protect Moniepoint's team, offices, and equipment across the region.
- Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and design innovative strategies to reduce risk.
- Supervise and mentor private security guards and armed police personnel, ensuring professionalism and respect in service delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison with law enforcement and emergency services, ensuring effective coordination during emergencies.
- Lead investigations into security breaches and accidents, providing clear, factual reports for continuous improvement.
- Design and deliver training programs that equip security personnel and employees with life-saving protocols.
- Stay ahead of security trends and technologies, including CCTV and access control systems, to keep regional operations modern and resilient.
- Provide expert guidance on asset recovery and fraud investigation when required by the business.
- At least 5 years of experience leading a security team in a guard services/physical security company, or 5 years as an ex-commissioned service personnel supervisor in the military, police, or paramilitary.
- A Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- A recognized security certification such as CPP, PSP, or CPO.
- A clean criminal record and the ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Fluency in local dialects of the major tribes within the assigned region.
- Solid experience working with automated security systems such as CCTV cameras and burglary alarm systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
