About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dynamic Project and Operational Readiness Manager to drive major industrial initiatives at our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of our manufacturing and production projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope, budget, timeline, and stringent safety standards. You will bridge the gap between initial project engineering and steady-state plant operations, playing a vital role in expanding our local manufacturing capacity across Nigeria and the wider African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and executive-level performance reports.
- Coordinate end-to-end procurement, vendor evaluations, contract discussions, equipment manufacturing, and international logistics.
- Supervise site preparation, civil works, and the installation of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with engineering specifications, food-manufacturing requirements, and HSSE standards.
- Lead equipment testing, commissioning, trial production, and technical issue resolution.
- Manage operational readiness, employee training, change management, and seamless handover to Maintenance and Operations teams.
- Drive post-commissioning stabilisation, continuous improvement, and overall project-benefit realisation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering; a master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in capital equipment installation and factory expansion within FMCG or food processing industries.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or COREN registration are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in project management platforms including MS Project, Primavera P6, and Power BI.
