About the Role
Dangote Group is looking for a seasoned Production Manager to oversee end-to-end production operations at its sugar manufacturing facility in Numan. This role is critical to ensuring optimal cane crushing, sugar production, quality control, and operational efficiency across the plant.
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all production activities, from cane reception through to sugar packaging, while leading a team of process managers, shift managers, and production supervisors to achieve set targets and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal targets.
- Coordinate all factory production activities from cane reception through sugar packaging.
- Monitor production performance and take corrective actions to achieve operational objectives.
- Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity and resources.
- Monitor factory efficiency indicators and recovery performance.
- Drive initiatives aimed at maximizing sugar recovery and minimizing losses.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvement measures.
- Promote continuous improvement and best manufacturing practices.
- Lead and supervise Process Managers, Shift Managers, Production Supervisors, and other production personnel.
- Ensure proper deployment and utilization of manpower.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Develop a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Participate in planning preventive maintenance, annual shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure prompt reporting and resolution of equipment failures affecting production.
Qualifications
- B.Sc./HND in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
- A minimum of 15 years' experience in the sugar industry, with proven production management experience.
- Strong knowledge of sugar processing operations, efficiency indicators, and recovery optimization.
- Excellent communication, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong project management, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- High level of integrity and interpersonal skills.
