About the Role
Colossus Investments Limited, a leading name in Nigeria's agro produce export industry, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement/Inventory Officer to oversee the sourcing, storage, and distribution of factory consumables. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted production operations by maintaining efficient procurement practices and robust inventory control systems within our factory consumables store.
The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and hands-on experience managing procurement and inventory processes in a manufacturing or FMCG setting. You will work closely with vendors, finance, and production teams to guarantee timely availability of quality materials while upholding the company's procurement and stock control policies.
Key Responsibilities- Source and obtain quotations from approved vendors for consumable items
- Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with approved budgets
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Evaluate and onboard new vendors while maintaining an approved vendor database
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of quality materials
- Track purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval processes
- Liaise with the Finance Department on vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Receive, inspect, and verify consumable items against purchase orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock documentation
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate timely replenishment
- Issue consumables based on approved requisitions
- Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile physical stock with inventory records
- Monitor expiry dates of applicable items
- Prepare regular inventory and procurement reports
- Analyse usage trends and recommend replenishment quantities
- Maintain proper housekeeping within the consumables store
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and internal policies
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years' experience in procurement, inventory, or stores management within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and procurement processes
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/ERP systems will be an added advantage
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
