About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a strategic and experienced Process Safety Manager to join our Health, Safety, Environment & Fire (HSE/F) department at our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will develop, implement, and continuously improve our Process Safety Management framework to prevent catastrophic incidents, safeguard our people and assets, and drive operational discipline across our world-class manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain the comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) framework and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and international standards.
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessment studies including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, Bowtie, and QRA to mitigate major accident hazards.
- Administer and govern the Management of Change (MOC) process to review and approve technical changes affecting plant safety prior to implementation.
- Lead investigations of process safety incidents and near misses utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to support Asset Integrity and Reliability coordination, including pressure vessels and safety systems.
- Promote a robust safety culture, develop process safety awareness programs, and coach plant personnel on major accident prevention.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering; a Master's degree is a distinct advantage.
- 8 to 15 years of relevant industrial experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to Process Safety Management within petrochemical, oil and gas, refinery, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Professional certifications such as CCPSC, NEBOSH PSM, CFSE, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor are highly desirable.
- Advanced technical proficiency in PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and Emergency Response Planning.
