About the Role
Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, a leading independent Nigerian energy firm formed from the acquisition of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), is seeking an experienced Principal Offshore Structures Engineer. This role provides critical technical input and assurance across the full project lifecycle, safeguarding the design, technical, and operational integrity of offshore structures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical input and assurance through Conceptual, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning stages
- Manage all Civil/Structures Offshore (CSO) engineering activities and deliverables for the HA/HB-Buko Projects
- Ensure engineering design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and installation comply with standards, project objectives, HSSE, and contractual requirements
- Define Civil/Structural scope of work, specifications, and requirements as part of the ITT package, applying systems engineering and requirements management best practices
- Perform technical studies and structural analysis/design using SACS and other civil/structural design software
- Provide discipline expertise to manage contractor delivery of design and specialist work in line with cost, schedule, quality, and HSSE requirements
- Review and provide technical assurance to FEED and Detailed Design deliverables
- Define geotechnical investigation scope and perform foundation design
- Supervise and provide quality assurance for fabrication and site construction works
- Drive innovative, cost-efficient solutions throughout the facilities lifecycle
- Manage multiple technical and non-technical interfaces and stakeholders
- Manage technical risk through expert review of standards deviations, liaising with the Discipline Lead as required
- Participate in safety workshops and value assurance events such as HAZID, HAZOP, VAR, and peer reviews
- Contribute to team meetings and performance reporting, taking a lead role in enhancing Renaissance's Shallow Offshore structures asset integrity
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals is desirable
- Minimum of 14 years' experience in Civil/Structural Engineering within the Oil and Gas industry
- Strong knowledge of HSSE frameworks and international engineering standards, best practices, and systems
- Solid understanding of practices, standards, and technologies relating to Oil and Gas facilities
- Demonstrable record of delivering structural engineering solutions for new projects and existing asset integrity
- Proficient in SACS software for offshore structures design
- Strong team, personal, and people management skills, with a commitment to continuous learning
