About the Role
Jevoir International British School (JIBS), a premier co-educational British international school in Abuja, Nigeria, is seeking a passionate and qualified Primary Teacher for our Year 1 classes. In this role, you will provide exceptional foundational education by blending the English National Curriculum with innovative teaching methods and strong moral discipline, ensuring every child thrives academically and personally in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons aligned with the British Curriculum for Year 1 students.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that fosters academic curiosity and good behavior.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and regular updates to parents.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant primary teaching experience in a reputable school.
- Demonstrated mastery and practical experience in delivering the British Curriculum (Key Stage 1).
- Proficiency in creating engaging, child-centric primary education lessons.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong classroom management abilities.
- Relevant teaching certification (NCE, B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
