We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-operative Nurse to join our dedicated team of medical professionals, ensuring optimal patient preparation, safety, and comfort before surgical interventions in specialties including orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and reconstructive surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients comprehensively prior to surgery and document medical histories accurately.
- Prepare patients physically and psychologically for surgical procedures, addressing any concerns or anxieties.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre staff to ensure seamless patient transitions into the operating room.
- Monitor vital signs and administer pre-operative medications as prescribed by the medical team.
- Ensure all pre-operative checklists, consent forms, and diagnostic results are complete and accurately filed.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid and current professional nursing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- Proven work experience as a Pre-operative, Peri-operative, or Surgical Nurse will be a strong added advantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
