About the Role
Duplo is building the platform to power the next generation of financial services, helping companies expand financial access through our powerful banking-as-a-service API. We are seeking an experienced PR & Communications Specialist to shape our narrative, build strong media relationships, and elevate our brand visibility across priority African markets like Nigeria and South Africa.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute proactive PR initiatives to strengthen Duplo's visibility, credibility, and reputation across business, technology, and fintech publications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and relevant media organisations, securing high-value interviews, features, and expert commentary.
- Lead PR execution for major company milestones, including product launches, strategic partnerships, and funding announcements.
- Craft compelling corporate narratives, press releases, opinion pieces, and executive communications that translate complex fintech products into clear stories.
- Coordinate industry events, webinars, and executive speaking opportunities to position leadership as trusted industry voices.
- Track and evaluate media coverage, maintaining comprehensive reports and actionable insights to continuously improve communications reach.
- 6 to 7 years of proven experience in public relations, media relations, corporate communications, or a related role within the technology or financial sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong portfolio of secured media placements and published corporate content.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with journalists, media outlets, and internal cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with the African tech and fintech landscape, particularly within key markets like Nigeria and South Africa.
