About the Role
Gardenia Resorts, a prestigious family-owned boutique hotel in Port Harcourt, is looking to hire a reliable and customer-focused Porter to join its hospitality team. This role is essential in ensuring guests enjoy a seamless and welcoming arrival and departure experience, reflecting the resort's commitment to premium service for corporate executives, business travelers, and leisure guests alike.
Key Responsibilities- Assist guests with luggage handling upon arrival and departure
- Escort guests to their rooms and provide a brief orientation of hotel facilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas
- Respond promptly to guest requests for assistance with bags, packages, or deliveries
- Support front desk and concierge teams during check-in and check-out processes
- Monitor and report any security or safety concerns within the hotel premises
- Ensure proper handling and storage of guest belongings to prevent damage or loss
- Provide directions and general information to guests in a courteous manner
- Assist with transportation logistics, including loading and unloading guest vehicles
- Relevant qualification such as SSCE, OND, or equivalent
- Prior experience in a hospitality, guest service, or portering role is an advantage
- Strong physical stamina to handle luggage and stand for extended periods
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, courteous, and professional disposition
- Good understanding of customer service standards in the hospitality industry
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
