About the Role
Acmecare Montessori Academy, a reputable private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Physics Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality physics instruction that fosters analytical thinking, scientific curiosity, and academic excellence among students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured physics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
- Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments that enhance students' understanding of physics concepts.
- Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Provide guidance and academic support to students, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities as required.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and conducive learning environment in the classroom and laboratory.
- Stay updated on modern teaching methods and integrate innovative approaches into lesson delivery.
- M.Sc, B.Ed, or B.Sc (PGDE) in Physics or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at the secondary school level.
- Strong knowledge of physics concepts, laboratory procedures, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students towards academic excellence.
- Proficiency in the use of technology and teaching aids to enhance learning.
- Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.
