About the Role
St. Ives Specialist Hospital, a leading multi-specialist facility dedicated to women, children, and family health since 1996, is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to join our dynamic team in Ikoyi, Lagos. In this role, you will provide essential support to our nursing staff, ensuring patients receive high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
- Support patient mobility and safely transfer patients within the hospital.
- Monitor and record vital signs as directed by the supervising nurse, promptly reporting any changes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment adhering to infection control standards.
- Accompany patients and assist during clinical examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE).
- Relevant certification in Healthcare Assistance, Caregiving, or Auxiliary Nursing is a strong advantage.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical healthcare setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and observational skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- Physically fit and capable of assisting patients with mobility needs.
