About the Role
Vodstra Limited, on behalf of our client—a leading and well-established player in the Nigerian passenger transport and logistics industry—is seeking a high-energy, commercially driven, and entrepreneurial Operations Manager. This is a dynamic business leadership role that goes beyond traditional fleet oversight. We need a strategic transport professional who understands how to maximize passenger occupancy, optimize cargo capacity, streamline routes, control operational costs, and drive profitability across all operating units.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily transport operations, terminal management, and frontline operational teams effectively.
- Maximize passenger occupancy, cargo volumes, vehicle utilization, and overall revenue per trip.
- Drive proactive sales and business development strategies to fill available passenger and cargo capacity.
- Manage drivers, supervisors, and support staff to foster high productivity and accountability.
- Minimize vehicle downtime and operational expenditures through smart fleet management practices.
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs to continually improve branch and route profitability.
- Identify strategic business opportunities, local partnerships, and new revenue streams.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transport operations, logistics, consolidated cargo, or mobility companies.
- Proven background in passenger transport or courier logistics management.
- Strong expertise in fleet management, route optimization, and cost control.
- Demonstrated success in sales, business development, and revenue generation.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and people-management skills, particularly with large frontline teams.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of load factors and profitability metrics.
