About the Role
WTS Energy is a leading global consultancy and manpower supply company to the international oil, gas, and energy industry. We are currently recruiting an expert Operations Manager to oversee marine and offshore support vessel operations for an upstream client based in Lagos, Nigeria. This critical leadership role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and highly efficient vessel performance, seamless contract delivery, and robust technical management across a diverse offshore fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations of offshore support vessels, including PSVs, AHTSs, FSOs, crewboats, and barges.
- Ensure full compliance with ISM and ISPS frameworks while managing class and statutory requirements through active liaison with classification societies and flag-state administrations.
- Direct vessel maintenance systems, plan and execute statutory surveys, and successfully manage dry-dock projects to drive operational reliability.
- Administer complex, high-value service contracts by coordinating effectively with internal teams and external clients to honour all service commitments.
- Provide expert technical ship management and operational support across the entire fleet in the Nigerian upstream environment.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in the upstream oil and gas or maritime sector, with at least 4 years in technical ship management, vessel operations, or offshore support roles.
- Extensive knowledge of offshore support vessel types such as PSVs, AHTSs, FSOs, crewboats, and barges.
- Proven expertise managing vessels under ISM/ISPS frameworks and working with major classification societies like Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, or DNV.
- Familiarity with Nigerian upstream oil and gas regulations, IOC client requirements (e.g., SPDC, TotalEnergies, Chevron, ExxonMobil, NUPRC), and marine software like AMOS or Ship Manager.
- Sea-going experience, a maritime Certificate of Competency (CoC), or a background as a ship engineer, superintendent, or technical manager is highly preferred.
