About the Role

Acmecare Montessori Academy, a leading private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery School Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an experienced educator who understands the unique developmental needs of young children and can foster a love for learning from the earliest stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Create a safe, warm, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration
  • Monitor, assess, and document each child's developmental progress and learning milestones
  • Develop age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
  • Maintain classroom discipline through positive behaviour management techniques
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to enhance the overall learning experience
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children under your care at all times
  • Organise and participate in school events, activities, and parent-teacher engagements
  • Keep up to date with best practices and trends in early childhood education

Qualifications
  • B.Ed, B.Sc, or NCE in Education or a related field
  • 3–5 years of proven experience teaching in Early Years (EYFS) settings
  • Sound knowledge of early childhood development principles and teaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
  • Patience, creativity, and genuine passion for working with young children
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented school environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
