About the Role
Acmecare Montessori Academy, a leading private co-educational day school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery School Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an experienced educator who understands the unique developmental needs of young children and can foster a love for learning from the earliest stages.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Create a safe, warm, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration
- Monitor, assess, and document each child's developmental progress and learning milestones
- Develop age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
- Maintain classroom discipline through positive behaviour management techniques
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to enhance the overall learning experience
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children under your care at all times
- Organise and participate in school events, activities, and parent-teacher engagements
- Keep up to date with best practices and trends in early childhood education
- B.Ed, B.Sc, or NCE in Education or a related field
- 3–5 years of proven experience teaching in Early Years (EYFS) settings
- Sound knowledge of early childhood development principles and teaching methodologies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
- Patience, creativity, and genuine passion for working with young children
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented school environment
