About the Role
BIC Nigeria, Africa's premier agribusiness company, is recruiting a Mould Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing operations. This role is critical to ensuring optimal production performance, product quality, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and continuously improving pen molds while working collaboratively with engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pen molds to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Execute mold assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and repairs with precision and accuracy
- Troubleshoot mold-related production issues to minimize operational downtime
- Monitor mold performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and technical documentation
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams on technical issue resolution
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis on mold failures and implement corrective actions
- Support process optimization efforts to improve cycle time and mold output
- OND or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Tooling, or related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in pen mold maintenance or plastic injection manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of mold structure, components, and operation
- Proficiency with precision tools: vernier calipers, micrometers, and measurement instruments
- Practical experience with lathe machines, surface grinding machines, and workshop equipment
