About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a global leader in building solutions, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mobile Plant Operator to join our dynamic operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our quarrying activities, ensuring that raw materials are safely and efficiently handled while maintaining our high standards of environmental sustainability and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities- Operate mobile plant and equipment including loaders, haul trucks, dozers, graders, and excavators safely and efficiently across diverse terrain.
- Conduct thorough pre-and post-operational mechanical inspections, routine servicing, and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Comply strictly with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, performing hazard assessments before commencing tasks.
- Participate in overall quarry operations, including overburden removal, material hauling, and management of stockpiles and tipping areas.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily operational logs and communicate effectively with onsite supervisors and ground personnel.
- Relevant Degree, equivalent qualification, or a recognized Trade Test certification/license.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven operating experience within the cement, mining, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of machine main systems, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
