About the Role
APM Terminals is a global leader in port operations and container management, dedicated to driving economic growth through efficient supply chains. At our bustling Apapa terminal, we rely on advanced mobile equipment to keep cargo moving safely and efficiently. We are currently looking for a dedicated Mobile Equipment Electrician to join our dynamic maintenance team, where you will play a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring optimal operational performance across our heavy machinery fleet.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults, control systems, and components on various mobile equipment including Reach Stackers, Empty Stackers, Forklifts, and heavy Trucks.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, modifications, and testing on equipment to guarantee full compliance with international safety standards and operational specifications.
- Respond swiftly to operational breakdowns, executing effective troubleshooting and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Accurately complete work orders, maintenance logs, and service records within the company digital maintenance management system.
- Adhere strictly to corporate health, safety, and environmental policies while maintaining a clean, hazard-free workshop environment.
- Support 24-hour terminal operations by participating in rotational shift work and on-call standby schedules.
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or BSc in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Possession of a recognized Trade Test Certificate or professional Diploma as an Electrician.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience within high-paced environments such as ports, terminals, mining, steel plants, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Demonstrated experience working in rotational shift environments and managing emergency equipment repairs.
- Good foundational mechanical knowledge combined with strong PC literacy and systematic troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to follow technical instructions meticulously, work independently, and communicate effectively within a multicultural team.
