Dangote Cement PLC, Ibese Plant is currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Mining Specialist to join our elite operations team in Nigeria. As a key player in Africa's leading manufacturing conglomerate, you will be responsible for optimizing extraction processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance across our mining sites.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, including risk assessments and environmental impact evaluations, to ensure project viability.
- Oversee and optimize extraction processes utilizing advanced mining techniques to guarantee safe, efficient operations.
- Collaborate closely with geologists to accurately assess the composition and distribution of mineral deposits.
- Develop detailed mining plans encompassing schedules, resource allocation, and project budgeting.
- Monitor operational performance continuously, implementing strategic initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements while championing a proactive safety culture.
- Train, mentor, and supervise engineering teams and site personnel to foster technical expertise and skills development.
- Maintain thorough documentation including daily reports, project updates, and regulatory compliance records.
- Engage effectively with key stakeholders, including government agencies and local communities, to maintain transparency.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive operational innovation.
- Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 9 to 12 years of demonstrable experience in mining operations or heavy engineering.
- High proficiency in industry-standard mining software and design tools.
- Strong, practical understanding of mining laws, regulations, and environmental standards.
